WELCOME

Randall Road is an essential north-south roadway located within the City of Elgin in Kane County, Illinois. At its interchange with US 20, Randall Road serves between approximately 50,000-57,000 vehicles daily and US 20 between approximately 35,000-38,000 vehicles. There are several commercial areas, medical centers, educational facilities and neighborhoods along the interchange corridor that contribute to heavy amounts of daily traffic.

The interchange was originally designed to prioritize traffic on US 20; however, increasing traffic on Randall Road has resulted in severe congestion both at the interchange and on nearby streets.

The Kane County Division of Transporation (KDOT) is currently conducting a preliminary engineering and environmental study to address the corridor’s problems and create a safer and more accessible interchange for all travelers. Please explore this website to learn more.

STUDY AREA

The study area includes Randall Road from South Street to Win Haven Drive within the City of Elgin. Given the interchange’s proximity to local roads, the study will also consider access to several cross streets: Larkin Avenue, South Street, Weld and Foothill roads, and Win Haven Drive.

An aerial of the study area can be seen to the right, while an interactive map of the area is available below.
